About Genelle

If you have seen me on campus, I'm usually running around with a coffee in hand! My name is Genelle and this coming year, I will be entering my fifth and final year at Wilfrid Laurier University studying Honours Political Science with a Management Option. Throughout my four years, I have lived in Willison Hall (twice!) and King Street Residence (KSR), became a copy editor with the Cord, was a Leadership Ambassador at the Centre for Student Life and Engagement (CSLE) formerly the SLC, played on several intramural teams, joined campus clubs, made life-long friends and much much more! These photos are only snapshots of my time spent at Laurier and I am so excited by the possibility of representing the Laurier community on OUR Students' Union Board of Directors!
As a don, I have committed much of my time and energy to improving the first year experience, helping incoming Golden Hawks transition into our community. I have worked in teams of all sizes, with both students and campus partners, as well as on my own. I understand what it means to be a listening ear, communicate mutually with others and be accountable for my actions and responsibilities. My time at Laurier has helped me handle working under pressure in high-stress situations, manage my time efficiently and balance a budget for students year to year.
I am running for a seat on the Board of Directors because Laurier has impacted my life in such a great way. Thanks to this school I am not just a student but also a don, a friend, a teammate and forever a Golden Hawk. My student experience here has been great and I want to help make it better for others.
